This policy explains what Attendo stores locally, what can leave your device when you choose to share or back up, and how advertising works. Last updated for Attendo 1.3.1.
Data stored on your device
Attendance records, subjects, timetable, classroom, teacher, percentages (computed from records), student name, theme, and target settings are stored locally using an on-device database. Core tracking, timetable, calendar, analytics, QR setup sharing, and local backup work without internet.

QR share
“My QR” encodes subjects, timetable slots (including classroom and teacher), and minimum percentage. It does not include attendance history, student name, or theme. Scanning merges new subjects and lectures; existing subjects are matched by name. Attendance is never imported or overwritten via QR.
Local backups
Export writes a JSON file you can share yourself. Import replaces all local data. Reset in Settings erases profile, subjects, timetable, and attendance, then returns you to onboarding.
Camera
The camera is used only to scan a classmate’s Attendo QR code. Attendo does not use the camera for attendance marking or continuous capture.
Advertising
Attendo is ads-only (Google AdMob). There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions. AdMob may collect device identifiers, coarse location, or diagnostics according to Google’s privacy policy. Attendo does not send subjects, attendance, timetable, name, or percentages to AdMob.
- Ads are not shown during onboarding.
- Ads are not shown while marking attendance, in dialogs, during QR scanning, or during backup/restore.
- If you are offline, ads simply do not load.
No Attendo account
You do not create an Attendo account. We do not operate an Attendo cloud for storing your attendance. If you uninstall the app without exporting a backup, local data is removed with the app (subject to normal OS behavior).
